- The latest end-of-month gas/diesel oil closing stock reported to JODI by each country, ranked by size, with the report month stamped on every value. Closing stocks are the inventory held on national territory on the last day of the month, in thousand barrels; this page displays them in millions of barrels.
- Why do the report months differ by country?
- JODI is voluntary self-reporting and countries close their books at different speeds, so the newest available month varies by reporter. This page never mixes months into a single world total: each country's value carries its own date, a lagging month is marked, and a month-over-month change appears only when the country reported two consecutive months.

- Is gas/diesel oil the same as diesel?
- Mostly, but not exactly. JODI's gas/diesel oil category is the middle-distillate cut: road diesel plus heating gasoil and other gasoils. It is the closest JODI equivalent of the EIA's US distillate category, and this page keeps JODI's own definition.
- How current is JODI data?
- JODI publishes monthly with a lag of roughly two months while countries finalise submissions. The report month is marked on every reading here, so you always know exactly which month a figure covers.
